any of the long, thin parts of the hand that bend and hold things, esp. one other than the thumb
I cut my finger when I was chopping onions.
A finger is also a part of a glove (= piece of clothing for the hand) that covers a finger.
Finger-pointing is saying that particular people are to blame:
The Republicans won, and the finger-pointing among the Democrats began.
A fingertip is the end of a finger.
If you have something at your fingertips, you have perfect knowledge of it and can bring it to mind immediately:
She had all the facts at her fingertips.
A fingernail is the hard, slightly curved part that covers and protects the top of the end of a finger.
