Definition

the level to which something is limited, or the area within which something operates: [C] a wide range of subjects [C] The coat was beautiful, but way out of my price range. Range is also the period of time within which something happens, or the distance something travels: [U] the short/intermediate/long range [U] He was shot at very close range.
