› the second-largest stock exchange in the US, after the New York Stock Exchange, which deals with shares from new, smaller, and foreign companies. In 2008 it was bought by the NYSE Euronext and became the NYSE Amex Equities in 2009: The company's stock is publicly traded on the American Stock Exchange.
