› ACCOUNTING the workers who are not directly involved in producing goods or supplying services, or the cost of paying those workers: Indirect labour includes all labour not directly engaged in converting raw material into finished product.
› HR in the UK, people who are employed by an agency, etc. to work in a particular company rather than being employed directly by that company: We hope to reduce our labour costs, mainly with regard to indirect labour including agency and offshore workers. → Compare direct labour
