› TRANSPORT used to describe vehicles that are designed to carry fairly light loads (= amounts of weight): a light-duty truck/van/pickup Light-duty trucks cost less and use less gasoline than heavy-duty ones.

› WORKPLACE, HR used for describing work that involves less physical activity than the usual type: Many employers don't provide light-duty work, which makes it difficult for an employee to return to work after an operation. → See also heavy-duty, medium-duty
