Definition

a law that makes it easier to get information about a government organization, how it makes decisions, spends money, etc., especially information that was previously secret: "Sunshine laws" guarantee citizen access to government meetings and to public documents kept by government. A bill in the state Senate would provide stiffer penalties for deliberate sunshine law violations.
