Definition

GIVE OBJECT [+ two objects] › to give something to someone for a period of time, expecting that they will then give it back to you: She lent me her car for the weekend. I do have a bike but I've lent it to Sara.

GIVE MONEY [I, T] › If a bank lends money, it gives money to someone who then pays the money back in small amounts over a period: The bank refused to lend us money for another mortgage.
