Definition

BURN [I, T] to start to burn, or to make something start to burn: to light a candle/cigarette/fire The wood was damp and wouldn't light.
BRIGHT [T] to produce light somewhere so that you can see things: [often passive] The room was lit by a single light bulb. Burning buildings lit up the sky.
