one of the small advertisements in a newspaper, magazine, or on a website that offers a job or to sell or buy something: To find job opportunities in your area, look through classified ads and sign up with local employment recruiters. More than 30 million classified ads are posted on Craigslist each month. Their internet career sections function in a similar way to classified advertisements in a national newspaper.
