Having studied languages, linguistics and computing, Dom Glennon now works as a systems developer for Cambridge Dictionaries. Each month, he calculates and comments on the top 20 most clicked-on entries on Cambridge Dictionaries Online.

advice holds off the strong challenge of paradigm to stay top - in fact there is no change in the top four. idiom is the big riser, up 11 places to no. 5, a few places above the only idiom in the list, be up to something. In an otherwise very static top 20, there's only one new entry: grope takes a fumble, sorry, tumble out of the top 20 and is replaced by endeavour.
